A TIME FOR WARRIORS

cultivate the spirit of the warrior, on the mat and off.

This five-part online series is a treasure trove of information and inspiration to cultivate the warrior spirit in your yoga practice.  We’ll learn about Virabhadra and Hanuman as characters — their origins, their legends, and the aspects of divinity/humanity they represent — as well as the stories behind their namesake asana (yoga poses). Then we’ll dive into the physical practice, breaking down Virabhadrasana (warrior poses), Anjaneyasana (lunging poses) and Hanumanasana (split pose) in live, interactive workshops to learn in community.

your guide // mischa, founder of pulse yoga collective

mischa has dedicated herself to living the practice of yoga. she teaches with reverence, joy, and humility (and often with puns and other dumb jokes).

mischa’s classes are marked by fluid, intentional movement creating space for breath and energy to move freely through the body.  she loves to share mantra and resonance practices, as well as historical context and yoga philosophy to encourage a broader understanding of yoga. her teaching explores the practices of yoga as tools for collective liberation, building the strength and suppleness required for life “off the mat.”

since her first teacher training in 2012, mischa has continued to dive ever-deeper into study, completing in total more than one thousand hours of yoga training.  she is certified by Yoga Alliance as a Continuing Education Provider and E-RYT 500.

mischa is grateful to have learned from many teachers of varied backgrounds, and is most greatly influenced by philosophy from the Shaiva Tantra lineage, and movement from the Tantric schools of Prana Vinyasa and Anusara. mischa’s main teachers have been Silvia Mordini, Tim Sullivan, the Radical Darshan School (Kallie Schut, Dr. Stacie Graham, Leila Sadeghee, Jonelle Lewis), and Janet Stone; true to the Tantric tradition of life as practice, being a parent to her son Jack continues to offer the richest teachings and opportunities for practice.
