packing tips
Come as you are, or as you'd like to be. We'll have one or two nicer meals, but for the most part, you can be as casual or as put-together as you like. It’s Mexico. Do what feels good.
There are, however, a few essentials we want to mention…
swimwear // important for pool time, jungle swimming holes, and maybe a dip in the Caribbean, why not?
comfortable clothes for movement and meditation // aim for layers, to keep you covered from sweaty flows to sweet savasana in the evening breeze.
sun protection // light, breathable layers are great for this too! temperatures tend to range from the mid-eighties during the day to the mid-sixties at night. yeah. dreamy.
walking shoes // from dusty jungle paths to colonial cobblestone, the Yucatán begs to be wandered, and wander we shall! you might also consider water shoes, for some of the rockier underground cenotes.
things for reading, writing, being // poolside doom-scrolling? no gracias. pack yourself a book, a journal, a pen - something to inspire more ‘being’ than ‘doing’
any medications you may need // and if you think you'll want allergy pills, ibuprofen, or other such comforts, may as well bring them along. that said, you should also have…
room in your suitcase! // there are so many treasures to discover here, from perfumes and incense to intricate tapestries, unique handicrafts and other packable works of art. (personally i’ll be seeking to replace my son’s favorite coconut-shell bowls…)
a note on currency: most of your meals and activities are already covered, but you’ll want some walking around money. cash is generally preferred and often required, though some shops and cafés accept cards. you can buy pesos before you travel from many U.S. banks. there are also secure ATMs in town and at the airport (but check to see if your bank/cards have foreign transaction fees).
just in case…
There are currently no travel restrictions between the US and Mexico (yay!); you do not need a visa to travel from the US, and you do not need to show proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test for entry.
That said, while travel insurance is not required, it can be an amazing tool to protect yourself from any unforeseen issues! We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers you medically as well as for trip interruptions and delays.
vibe check

frequent wonderings
wait so where are we going?
near enough to Tulum to visit our favorite artisans and eat our favorite tacos; far enough out of town to feel like a private oasis; and mere steps from multiple cenotes (freshwater caverns and swimming holes unique to this part of the world). if you need to orient yourself on a map, the nearest landmark to our sweet retreat is the Dos Ojos cenote park.
how many people are coming?
we like to keep things intimate around here. this retreat tops out at around ten people.
eek I haven’t been to a yoga class in awhile… am I ready for this??
not. to. worry. retreat is supported space for your practice, whatever that looks or feels like on a given day. if you’re feeling rusty, we got you. if you’re feeling expansive and strong, we got you. everything we’ll offer here is adaptable to any “level” — but it’s way less about the poses and way more about showing up fully to the practice.
{ and if you want to flow with us a little early, find us here! }
how does the payment plan work?
we’ll request payment by invoice in two equal installments, mid-November and mid-January. let us know if you’d like to set-up a different plan; we’re flexible! (no pun intended…)
can I adopt a stray cat in Mexico?
ok admittedly nobody asked this question, but since I have seen it happen twice on a Yucatán retreat, I just thought you should know the answer is yes and be prepared for the possibility.
